9/27 Peter Allen & Hurricane Mountain Wraps Up DAC's Drive-In Live Music Series

Sunday, September 27, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at Bridgton Twin Drive-In, Peter Allen & Hurricane Mountain wrap-up the September Music Series at the COVID-safe venue in the outdoor setting of Bridgton Twin Drive-in. Local country artist Peter Allen returns to his hometown of Bridgton. “I grew up in Bridgton, lived there most of my life,” said Peter Allen about his return to perform for Denmark Arts Center's final fundraising event.

The Denmark Arts Center at the Drive-In LIVE Music Series is presented by Chalmers Insurance, Norway Savings Bank, and Bridgton Twin Drive-In.

Hurricane Mountain's lineup is a comfortable classic, contemporary, and outlaw country, with a little classic rock, blues, and swing. You will hear music from artists including the Eagles, Zac Brown Band, Steve Earle, Lee Roy Parnell, Jamie Johnson, Brad Paisley, and Chris Stapleton, among others. Even though traditional country is where Peter Allen excels, as evidence by his recent Maine Country Music Association award of Male Country Vocalist of the year, he encourages the band to stretch out and play many styles.

The band is comprised of musicians Frank Coffin on bass guitar and vocals, Tedd Hamilton on lead guitar, harmonica and vocals, Rick McAlister on drums, and Chris Floyd on lead guitar and vocals.

Bring your picnic lunch or order online with Standard GastroPub for a box lunch to-go and a special discount for event-goers. Whether you picnic on your lawn chair in front of your car or inside your car, let the sweet sounds of September serenade you at the Denmark Arts Center at the Drive-In series this Sunday.

These events are not business as usual. Gathering people during a pandemic is tricky and requires thoughtful measures. This COVID-safe music series is in substitution for Denmark Arts Center's fall fundraiser. These concerts are rain or shine events, as their music will be piped into your vehicle, in case of inclement weather. A description of what the experience will be like at the concert accompanies each band listing on the website. The goal for each of these events is to get art into the community, employ musicians, and provide a bit of relief for our weary minds.

The gate opens at 12:00 p.m., with the concert starting at 1:00 p.m. Reservations are required, $50 per vehicle, with a maximum of 5 people per vehicle.
