The Cornish Selectmen previously announced that they had ordered a shortened nomination process in order to fill a vacancy on the Select-board. The "shortened nomination process" is pretty much what it sounds like; it is a different process which allows the nomination to happen faster. The were able to do this by utilizing Maine Statute Title 30-A M.R.S.A 2528(4)(e)*.

Cornish Selectman Nomination Schedule Recap:

  • Monday, December 3, 2018, Nomination papers became available

  • Tuesday, December 18, 2018, Signed nomination papers were to be returned to the Town Clerk by 3:00 PM

  • Thursday, December 20, 2018, Absentee ballots became available

  • Thursday, January 17, 2019, from 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Voting for Selectmen for a term ending 2020 will take place, followed by a Town Meeting and reading of the results.
