Sacopee Valley High School Graduates Selected for This Year's Worthington Scholarship

The Worthington Scholarship Foundation (WSF) is pleased to announce that more than 1,000 Maine high school graduates have received the 2026 Worthington Scholarship. Founded by Beverly and the late David Worthington, WSF empowers Maine students not only to begin college, but to succeed and graduate. Each recipient will receive up to $20,000 to attend one of the Foundation’s 24 partner colleges in Maine, representing a total investment of $20 million in this year’s cohort.

"We want to give a huge welcome to the students selected for this year's Worthington Scholarship. They earned this opportunity through hard work and grit, and we are proud to play a significant role in helping them reach their higher education goals," states Julie Bourgoin, President of WSF.

In addition to financial support, each scholar is paired with a Scholar Advocate who connects them with on-campus resources and provides support throughout college.

“Our scholars show the resilience and determination that reflects the very spirit of Maine,” says Beverly Worthington, Co-Founder of WSF. “Supporting such brilliant Maine students over the past 16 years has been an honor, and I look forward to following this year’s scholars throughout their college journeys. There is no doubt these scholars will be the driving force behind Maine’s economic growth.”

This year's local scholarship recipients are Sacopee Valley High School graduates Brandy Anderson, Josephine Connelly, and Max Wright.

Since 2010, the Worthington Scholarship Foundation has awarded $88 million in multi-year scholarships to graduates of Maine public high schools who attend partner colleges in Maine.
