Inn at Cornish to undergo more TLC thanks to a Community Development grant

The Inn at Cornish approved for Community Development grant award.

Cornish Inn
The historic Inn at Cornish has been receiving some TLC from new owners Rick and Lori Rowland.

The Inn at Cornish - under new ownership and management – has worked with the Town of Cornish to apply for an Economic Development grant from the Community Development Block Grant program run by the Maine Office of Community Development (OCD).

The grant is made under a federally-funded, state-run program aimed at bolstering businesses to increase creation of permanent, full-time employment. The Inn at Cornish is located across the street from Thompson Park and is a fit for the program, which prefers hospitality businesses, especially in historic buildings with a presence in or near the center of town.

The grant funding will allow for renovations to the 200-year old Inn, including heating, hot water, solar electricity, heat-pump air conditioning and improvements to the grounds to create more off-street parking and a welcoming back-yard setting for guests and events.

Stay tuned for updates!
