Denmark Arts Center Presents - DAC at the Drive-in, Live Music Series, Sundays in September

Denmark Arts Center is going to the Drive-In in September. Denmark Arts Centers LIVE Music Series presented by Chalmers Insurance, Norway Savings Bank, and Bridgton Twin Drive-in will feature a range of bands.

Denmark Arts Center, with the help of John Tevanian at the Bridgton Twin Drive-In, has set-up a series of live concerts that are COVID-safe to create a relaxing and pleasurable music experience. Infectious roots-based pop, to a blend of contemporary, traditional, and original folk acoustic, from touches of blues, R&B, Rock, and Southern Boogie to straight-up Country, hopefully, you’ll find something to enjoy.

For a month of Sundays, DAC’s September music series will present:

  • 9/6/2020 - The Oshima Brothers

  • 9/13/2020 - Susie Burke & Dave Surette

  • 9/20/2020 - Bruce Marshall & the Shuffle

  • 9/27/2020 - Peter Allen and Hurricane Mountain

Gathering people during a pandemic is tricky and requires thoughtful measures. These events are not business as usual. A description outlines what the experience will be like at the concert and accompanies each band listing on the website.

Denmark Arts Center has spent the past couple of months reaching out to other businesses and nonprofits who were scheduling similar events. Scott Hayward, Tupelo Music Hall founder, early on set-up live music in a Drive-In setting. Mr. Hayward was helpful and discussed the challenges he faced when first starting. The Strand Theater, a non-profit in Rockland, Maine, partnered with Owls Head Transportation Museum to provide movies for their community in a COVID-safe fashion. Denmark Arts Center has used examples ‘in the field’ and has created a series hopefully many can enjoy. The goal for each of these events is to get art into the community, employ musicians, and provide a bit of relief for a weary mind.

Reservations are required. The cost of admission is $50 per vehicle, with a maximum of 5 people per vehicle. The gates open at 12:00 p.m. The concerts start at 1:00 p.m. To purchase tickets or find more information, please visit www.DenmarkArts.org/event.

The Bridgton Twin Drive-In and is located at 383 Portland Rd. in Bridgton, Maine only 30 minutes from North Conway, New Hampshire, and one hour from Portland and Lewiston, Maine.
