On Saturday, August 31st, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. the Denmark Arts Center presents 236 Strings, as the end of summer classical performance. 236 Strings will perform a provocative concert of famous classical violin and piano duos at the Denmark Arts Center.
Noted for their “enlivening tautness and precision” and “shared musical values,” Annie Antonacos and Tracey Jasas-Hardel have been playing together for years as members of the Portland Piano Trio. As a trio, they have performed all over New England on chamber music series such as the Back Cove Contemporary Music Festival and Portsmouth Athenaeum. They are serving as the first musicians-in-residence of 240 Strings, a Portland, Maine-based nonprofit dedicated to providing private music lessons to economically-challenged children in Portland, and providing affordable community concerts. 240 Strings was awarded a Maine Arts Award in 2018.
The doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the performance beginning at 7:00 p.m. Concessions will be available. Tickets are $15 for Adults, $12 for Seniors, $8 for children under 18, and $35 for Families. To purchase tickets or find more information, please visit www.DenmarkArts.org/events (events or calendar) or call the Denmark Arts Center box office at (207) 452-2412.
