8/10/19 Healthy Sacopee Hike

WHEN: Saturday, Aug.10, 8:00AM. Meet at the Sacopee Valley Health Center parking lot

WHERE: Mt. Morgan-Mt. Percival Loop (Center Sandwich, NH) - OR - Old Bridle Path Trail (Ctr. Sandwich, NH)

Want a real challenging hike, or a “walk in the woods”? Both give marvelous views of the Squam Lakes area.

  1. Mt. Morgan - Mt. Percival: This is a 5.5 mile loop, that’s listed as moderate, but should be considered difficult. Why? Lots of scrambling over boulders, narrow passes, steep ledges - did we mention the ladders? (We’re told it’s possible to go around these). Sturdy hiking boots (mud!) and bug dope (mosquitoes!) recommended.

  2. Old Bridle Path Trail: Just across Rte. 113 from the Morgan-Percival Loop trailhead is the trailhead for West Rattlesnake outlook via this 0.9 mile (one way) trail. Mud and mosquitoes are still an issue, but otherwise an easy hike (383 ft. elevation gain). We’ll meet at the Sacopee Valley Health Center at 8am to carpool. Bring water, food, bug dope and those sturdy hiking boots.

An RSVP with your choice of hike would be helpful in our planning.
