Two Maine Schools Crowned Vocabulary Bowl Champions

Sacopee Valley High School earned the top high school honor in Maine, and Wells Junior High School won the middle/elementary category for the state in the Fall 2025 Vocabulary Bowl, the world’s largest academic contest. This is an impressive feat, as this was the biggest season to date, drawing in one million students from 6,000 schools spanning 120 countries! 

• Sacopee Valley High School mastered 1,575 words

• Wells Junior High School mastered 3,850 words 

The Vocabulary Bowl is the world's largest annual, digital, and gamified word-learning competition hosted by Vocabulary.com, where K-12 students, schools, and teachers compete to master the most words.
