Town of Porter open for voting on 3/20. Town Meeting still a go for 3/21/20.

UPDATE: The Porter Selectboard will meet today, Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at 2:00 PM to decide how to proceed with elections and town meeting

 

As of 11:30 am, 3/17/2020, Porter voting to be held as scheduled until further notice.

Check the Porter website, portermaine.org, for updates.


 

Precautions to manage the COVID-19 situation will be taken during both events such as disinfecting surfaces, making hand sanitizers available and social distancing. PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND IF YOU ARE SICK.

 

Friday, March 20, 2020, Porter voting polls are open for local municipal elections from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Officers to be elected: Selectman, Assessor, Overseer of the Poor -- 3 yr. term

  • MSAD 55 School Board Director -- 3 yr. term

  • Planning Board Members -- 2 positions -- 3 yr. terms

  • Planning Board Members -- 2 positions -- 1 yr. unexpired term

  • Planning Board Member -- 1 position -- 2 yr. unexpired term

On Saturday, March 21, 2020, Porter's Annual Town Meeting will be held at the Porter Town Hall at 9:00 a.m.
 

Absentee ballots for Town Election Voting will be available until 3pm on Thursday, March 19, 2020.


By State law, absentee voting is not allowed at Town Meeting (you must be present to participate). The Town meeting may be postponed but that decision must be made at the Meeting by a vote of the citizens. Mark it on your calendar to attend. It’s your tax dollars being voted on. Town Reports are available at the Town Office
