The 'Show Us Your Talent Variety Show' is Looking for New Acts

Updated: Jul 18, 2020

The Saco River Festival Association is looking for some new acts for the 3rd Annual Show Us Your Talent Variety Show; comedians, jugglers, dancers, musicians, etc.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • The Variety Show is planned for Saturday, April 25, 2020, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Pike Memorial Hall Auditorium, Cornish, Maine. Admission is $5.00 per ticket. Participants are free, but family and friends have to purchase tickets, as this is a fundraiser for renovations at Pike Hall Auditorium and seating is limited. Refreshments will be available (donations encouraged).

  • The Variety Show is sponsored by the Saco River Festival Association, a non-profit 501(c)3 arts organization. Profits from the Variety Show will benefit the renovations at Pike Hall. Participants are donating their time and talents and we are very appreciative!

  • Participants should attend one of the two auditions at Pike Hall, Friday, April 3, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., or Saturday, April 4, 2020, from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

  • Participants must attend the dress rehearsal (to determine the line-up, time the program, see what equipment needs to be moved, etc). The dress rehearsal will be held on Saturday, April 18, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Be sure to bring whatever you need - music, costumes, music stand, amps, etc. You might want to bring a bottle of water as well. They will provide a microphone and speaker, but if you have some that you use, you are welcome to bring it and they’ll try to accommodate you if we can (outlets, etc).

  • Kate Beever will be the Master of Ceremonies. Kate is a professional musician who will also assist with determining the line-up.

  • You will have to sign a “Release of Liability in Favor of the Town of Cornish” form before the rehearsal. That is a town requirement.

  • No one is allowed to go up in the balcony (including photographers). That is a town requirement as well. Fundraising is ongoing to make the auditorium and balcony compliant according to the Fire Marshall’s requirements (this variety show is one of the fundraisers).

  • There is a lift that is accessible for anyone with physical limitations and to bring musical instruments/amps, etc. up to the hall.

What is needed from you:

Please respond before the end of March with this information:

  • Name of people in your group and your contact info, including cell/phone#.

  • Name of song(s) or act you plan to perform. Please try to keep your act to 5 minutes or less, unless they’ve requested additional songs from your group already.

  • Anything else you’d like them to say about you and/or your group when they introduce you.

We are so fortunate to have such talent in and around our community! Thank you for donating your time and talent for this show.
