Porter Presentation of the Boston Post Cane to their Oldest Surviving Resident

On May 29, 2021, Adrian O. Durgin was presented with the Boston Post Cane by the Selectmen of Porter: Ron Sylvia, Brent Day, and Shane Lajoie.

The Boston Post Cane is presented to the oldest surviving resident of the town in what has become a Yankee tradition.

The presentation was done in the Porter Veteran's Park, a place that is very dear to Adrian's heart. He was the driving force behind the park and is responsible for the beautiful WWII Veterans Memorial that now sits in the park. Adrian was born in 1924 in Porter and graduated from Porter High in 1942. He joined the Air Force during WWII and had a long career at Pratt & Whitney before returning home to Porter after his retirement.

Congratulations Adrian!
