Dead Girls The Musical with Lynne McGhee 9/22/23

Denmark, Maine - Denmark Arts Center presents Dead Girls The Musical with Lynne McGhee on Friday, September 22 7pm.

Musical Theater vocalist Lynne McGhee is back at DAC with a musical tribute to iconic pop queens who have left us. Join vocalist/comedienne Lynne McGhee and the Dead Girls Band as they salute Divas from the great beyond. Patsy Cline, Cass Elliot, Karen Carpenter, Olivia Newton John, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston and more! Come prepared to laugh and sing the night away. Written & performed by Lynne McGhee. Directed by Brian P. Allen of Good Theatre in Portland. Musical Direction by Carmine Terracciano.

Lynne’s most recent production, Killer Comfort, was produced by Good Theater at The Hill Arts in Portland last winter. If you missed it, you’ll have a chance to see it this February when it comes back for another run! (www.Goodtheater.com) Lynne has performed throughout New York and New England with Maine State Music Theater, Portland Stage Company, Good Theater, The Weathervane Theater, Actor's Theater of Maine, the Children’s Theater of Maine and various regional theaters. Lynne enjoys voice over work and was on air radio talent for WPOR’s morning drive shows, The Baxter and Lynne Show and The WPOR Morning Crew. She also produced and performed cabaret shows at The Eastland Park Hotel as The Broadway Cabaret. Other cabaret performances include Danny's Skylight Room, Don't Tell Mama and the Rainbow Room in NYC. She has acted in film and television both locally and nationally appearing in 30 Rock, I Think I Love My Wife, Baby Mama, True North, The Fay-Lindsay Jones Story and more.

Dead Girls, the Musical, is performed and written by Lynne McGhee, a member of Actors Equity Association, SAG-AFTRA, the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs and BACA (Boston Association of Cabaret.) She holds a BA in Theater and has certifications in personal development coaching from the Coaches Training Institute and expressive arts from New York Expressive Arts as well as Animal Assisted Intervention from Oakland University.

What Lynne loves most about performing is the opportunity to create something with an audience, rather than for an audience. Her vision is to use interactive theater, humor and other art modalities to help people break through ways of thinking that keep them from attaining their goals. Her last show at Denmark Arts Center was Back to the Drawing Board, a show which focused on themes that limit personal empowerment. Dead Girls, the Musical is a comical way of saluting some of our most beloved female singers while reminding ourselves life is short so live it your way! Lynne also continues to write and act for film, on stage and behind the mic doing voice over work. She has private expressive arts coaching clients and enjoys public speaking engagements. For booking details or coaching sessions visit LynneMcGheeTalent.com. Lynne is passionate about volunteering and currently helps at The Travis Mills Foundation. She lives in Harpswell with her husband Mark and spoiled pups Russell-Walker and Callie.
