Notice, Town of Porter special town meeting.

Town meeting warrant on Monday, October 7, 2019, at 6:30 p.m.


To Fred Iler, at resident of the Town of Porter, in the County of Oxford, State of Maine.

Dated September 13, 2019.


Greetings:


In the name of the State of Maine, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Porter in said county and state, qualified by law to vote in town affairs, to meet at the Town Hall in said Town on Saturday, the 7th day of October 2019 A.D., at six-thirty o'clock in the evening, then and there to act upon the following articles:


  • Article 1. To choose a moderator by written ballot to preside at said meeting.

  • Article 2. Shall changes to the Land Use Ordinance of Porter as proposed by the Porter Planning Board be enacted? Note: An attested copy of the full text the proposed amended ordinance has been posted together with this warrant, and copies are available from the office of the town clerk and will be available at the town meeting.

  • Article 3. Shall an ordinance entitles "Town of Porter Local Food and Community Self-Governance Ordinance" be enacted? Note: An attested copy of the full text the proposed amended ordinance has been posted together with this warrant, and copies are available from the office of the town clerk and will be available at the town meeting.

  • Article 4. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Tax Collector to accept prepayment of taxes for the ensuing year, not yet due or assessed, and to pay interest at the rate of 3% per annum on such payments made prior to commitment of those taxes. Prepayments may not exceed 90% of the prior year's tax. Said interest on prepayments shall be taken from undesignated funds balance as needed. (Title 36 M. R. S. A §506)
