On Thursday, 24, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Denmark Arts Center presents Applehead Dolls Workshop with Micki Warner.
It’s apple-pickin’ season and a perfect time to think about making this classic Applehead doll. Fresh Cortland apples will transform into little old faces as they dry. The project will take two sessions (Thursday, October 3 and Thursday, October 24 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.) to allow time for the faces to dry out. The first day you will carve heads and construct your doll bodies. In the second class you will attach the heads and dress them.
You can decide who your Applehead doll will become during the drying period and work on clothing and props: a sweet elderly lady, Father Christmas, a fly fisherman, or a scary Halloween witch! Carve several heads and decide as they dry.
This class will be taught by Micki Warner. The class fee is $20 and includes materials. To register for the workshop or find more information, please visit www.DenmarkArts.org/events.
Denmark Arts Center is located at 50 West Main Street in the beautiful hamlet of Denmark, only 30 minutes from North Conway, New Hampshire and one hour from Portland and Lewiston, Maine.
