Town of Porter Important Notices

Dog licenses are due by January 1, 2023. All dogs 6 months and older are required by law to be licensed. Please bring current Maine Rabies and Neuter/Spay Certificate, if applicable.

*As of January 31, 2023 there will be a $25.00 late fee.

Remember, it is illegal for all dogs, licensed or not, to run at large.



Hunting & Fishing Licenses now available for 2023



Please take note: parking any vehicle within a plowed right-of-way during snow removal is prohibited by State law. Such vehicles will be towed at the owner's expense.



Nomination papers will be available on December 2, 2022 for the following positions:

  • Selectperson, Assessor, Overseer of the poor - 3 year term

  • Director of MAD #55 (I position) - 3 year term

  • Planning Board Members (2 positions) - 3 year terms

Nomination papers are due back to the office of the town clerk by Friday, January 13, 2023, at 5:00 p.m.


Deadline for budget requests, warrant articles, and reports for the annual town report are due to the Town Clerk's Office no later than Thursday, December 29, 2022 by 3:00 p.m.

Absolutely no requests or articles will be accepted after that date.


The Town's budget committee meeting will be held at the Porter Town Hall on January 19, 2023, at 6:30 p.m.
