5/25-5/26 & 6/1-6/2 Brunswick Plant Sale

You're invited to the 2019 Plants for Peace plant sale on Saturday & Sunday, May 25 - 26 from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM* and Saturday & Sunday, June 1 & 2 from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM

Rain or shine, the sales will be at 3 Greenleaf St., Brunswick, ME. Take the 1st right off River Rd. onto Androscoggin St. then a left onto Greenleaf St. or follow signs.

SOME of the NEW PLANTS for this year include:

SUN-LOVERS:  

  • Asclepias incarnata - 3-4' pink native milkweed for Monarchs

  • Showy Daylily 'Autumn Minaret'-  tallest (5-7') and latest blooming day lily

  • 'Bonfire" Spurge with chartreuse flowers and showy maroon foliage

  • Sedum 'Autumn Charm'-like 'Aut. Joy 'but with pretty variegated foliage

  • 'Sweet Summer Love' Clematis-fragrant, with many multi-colored purple and red blooms

  • Purple Pasque flower with fuzzy buds and seed-pods

  • 'South Seas 'Daylily-vigorous, long blooming, large 2- tone coral flowers

  • Climbing Hydrangea vines for sun or part shade- dramatic white clusters bloom 30' high for weeks!

SHADE LOVERS:

  • Lovely clumping 'White Queen' Epimedium

  • Long blooming Pink Spotted Hellebores

  • Red-stemmed Solomon's Seal; colorful, draping 'Red-Falls' Heucherella

  • Unusual and beautiful  'Painters Pallette' Persicaria

  • Mukdenia 'Crimson Fans' w. dramatic fall foliage

  • Rare, very early flowering Scopolia-with maroon/brown blooms..and many more.

Most plants are $5. A portion of the proceeds is donated to Peace Action Maine, Seeds of Peace and Brunswick/Trinidad, Cuba Sister City Association.

*NO EARLY BIRDS  please, but the gardens will be open for browsing before, during, and after the sale. There will be a wide variety of plants available for sunny or shady borders, woodland, rock gardens, and bogs, including natives, old favorites, and rare and uncommon perennials. Also, annuals, peonies,  shrubs, and vines.
